Mauritius prime minister responds to EU blacklisting

On 7 May 2020 the European Union (EU) placed Mauritius on its list of high-risk countries with “strategic deficiencies in their anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing frameworks.”  This followed interactions between the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Mauritian government in 2018 and the FATF placing Mauritius on its “grey list” earlier in 2020.

The prime minister of Mauritius responded to the EU action by issuing a communique on 2 June 2020.  Click here for the response.
