Farewell message from Aaron Roup

Aaron Roup filled the position of secretary of FISA and its predecessor, The Association of Trust Companies in South Africa, for more than 26 years.  Personal and business reasons caused him to inform the FISA Council earlier this year that he intends to step down as secretary.  Aaron remains a nationally elected councillor at least until the end of his current three year term, having been re-elected unopposed earlier this year.

The FISA Council expresses its sincere appreciation for the role Aaron played for more than two and a half decades.

Aaron expressed his thoughts on the end of this era in the following words:

“To All FISA members

June 30 2024 marks the end of a 26 and a half year journey as the FISA secretary, a journey that started with me taking a call that would change my life for the foreseeable future.

It has been a journey of many highlights for which I am thankful for being the FISA secretary.

All that is left for me to say is a heartfelt thank you to the various chairpersons of FISA under whom I operated, the various members of council that I interacted with, and the CEO whose guidance was always appreciated, during my time as secretary.

To those members who have personally contacted me after being advised of my resignation, your kind words are and always will be appreciated.

Regards

Aaron”
