The Information Regulator, appointed under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPI), published draft regulations for public comment on 8 September 2017.
POPI will have a profound impact on the way businesses and professionals are required to deal with the personal information of customers and clients. The draft regulations gives some indication of the compliance burden this new legislation will place on everyone – including the fiduciary profession.
Anybody can comment on the draft regulations before 7 November 2017.
