Ronel Williams was re-elected unopposed for a further three year term as nationally elected councillor of FISA. The term of office of one nationally elected councillor of FISA ends each year at the annual general meeting of FISA. Under paragraph 15.2 of the FISA Constitution such a retiring councillor is considered to be nominated for re-election unless s/he indicates to the FISA CEO the s/he is not available. Any two members are free to nominate any other FISA member for this annual vacancy on the FISA Council. The nomination period was open from 17 January 2019 to 4 February 2019. No other nomination was received by the deadline.
Regional chairpersons and vice-chairpersons were also elected for a two-year term in three regions during February 2019. The elected regional chairpersons will be FISA councillors for the term, with the relevant regional vice-chairperson acting as alternate councillor when a particular regional chairperson cannot attend a council meeting.
