Master’s Offices – systems operational again

A meeting between the Deputy Minister of Justice, Mr John Jeffrey, and representatives of a number of organisations active in the fiduciary industry was held on 27 October 2021. FISA was represented by CEO, Louis van Vuren, while some FISA members who are also attorneys were also present.

The attendees were informed that the IT systems are virtually fully operational again, after the ransomware attack on 5 September 2021. Master’s Offices are catching up on the backlog.

The Deputy Minister and the Chief Master requested that internal channels be exhausted before complaints are lodged with the office of the Chief Master. It was pointed out to them that it is almost impossible to get a response from Master’s Offices when phoning or sending emails. They nevertheless requested that appointments be made rather than practitioners just arriving at Master’s Offices.

FISA members are reminded that, once the internal channels are exhausted, FISA members can log complaints on the FISA website by clicking here and then completing and submitting the online form.
