CPD requirements and capturing your points

An increased percentage of FISA members have indicated that they need more information about the FISA CPD requirements and how to capture their CPD points on the FISA website. Every year in the second quarter we ask questions about this in the registration process for attendance of the FISA regional meetings.

The following should be kept in mind:

  1. FISA members are required to spend 60 hours in a two-year cycle on CPD, thereby accumulating 60 CPD points over this period. A new cycle starts every year on 1 January and comes to an end on 31 December of the following year.
  2. It remains each member’s responsibility to capture their CPD points. You confirm this every year during your renewal of membership process.
  3. CPD certificates issued by FISA for event attendance must be downloaded and saved immediately when the email with the link to the certificate is received. The email states the deadline date after which the certificate will no longer be available. FISA will not entertain requests for certificates after this deadline date as the process to supply copies becomes a manual and admin-intensive process after the date mentioned.
  4. There is no deadline for capturing CPD points. If you have fallen behind, you can capture CPD points for CPD activities completed in previous years.
  5. The CPD Programme Charter is on the FISA website under the tab “Resources”. Please read it to understand your obligations.
