Chief Master’s Directive 1/20 on estate advertisements

The Office of the Chief Master issued a directive on placing deceased estate advertisements in smaller community based weekly newspapers.  This was necessitated by some daily newspapers discontinuing their printed editions and going online only with no legal advertisements.

FISA Focus Weekly reported on the Afrikaans daily, Volksblad’s, last printed edition on 8 August and the available alternatives in our 17 July 2020 edition, and made a submission to the Chief Master’s office about the practical implications.  It is pleasing that the contents of the Chief Master’s directive takes cognisance of these practical implications pointed out by FISA.
