In this Moneyweb article, FISA CEO Louis van Vuren talked to Amanda Visser about the use of fiscal drag to increase tax revenue.

Essentially this means that that state has not provided inflationary relief – for example, capital gains tax (CGT) has increased substantially over the past 12 years, simply because exclusions have not been adjusted for inflation. This has a marked effect on the CGT payable upon death, as Louis explains by way of an example.
